Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Tuesday, 20 January 1914, page 5 The remains of Alexander R. Johnson arrived in the city last evening from Pendleton, Ore. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 from the undertaking parlors of Geddes & Company on West Third street. Friends wishing to view the remains can do so from 10 until 11 o'clock at the above mentioned place tomorrow morning. Rev. Walter I. Fowle will conduct the service ****** Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Saturday, 17 January 1914, page 3 A. R. Johnson, son of C. J. Johnson, residing east of the Soldiers' Home, passed away in Pendleton, Ore., yesterday morning at 6 o'clock, word having been received last night by relatives. The young man who is only 32 years of age was sick for only two weeks and died of tuberculosis. He was born in this city and until late years made his home in Grand Island. He was a member of A.O.U.W. lodge No. 1, and will be well remembered here. The remains are expected to arrive here Monday and the time for the funeral will be announced later.
