Grand Island (Nebraska) Herald Thursday, 27 September 1928, page 1 Wm. McLellan Killed, Companion Is Injured William McLellan, old and well known resident of Grand Island, met death in an automobile accident last evening west of Stapleton, and his companion, Claude Doran, was seriously injured, an arm and limb. . . These two gentlemen had gone west on a cattle buying trip in Mr. Doran's car, a light coupe. The accident was the result of a head-on collision with another car coming from the west. . . The deceased was quite a familiar figure in this town and his ill fate came as a shock to the many friends in this city. He was a brother of John McLellan, former senator from this district. The remains are being brought to this city today. No plans for the funeral have been announced.
