Bio

Dorothy A. Bohaty, 87, of David City died Wednesday August 1, 2012 at the Butler County Health Care Center. Dorothy was born on July 25, 1925, the first of eight children to James and Helen (Kozisek) Timms. Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of David City High School and went on to attend the Nebraska School of Commerce. Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles F. Masek on October 29, 1946 at St. Mary's Church in David City. They were blessed with five children. She was employed by Nebraska Egg, Henningsen Foods and Vishay-Dale Electronics. On November 17, 1990, Dorothy married Joe Bohaty in Lincoln. Dorothy lived her entire life in the David City area. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church as well as St. Mary's PCCW. Dorothy loved auctions, embroidering tea towels and baking; kolaches were her specialty. She loved Chihiahuas, especially her companion Daisy. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her children: Marty (Pal) Masek of Blair; Bob Masek of David City; Kathy Truksa of David City; Connie (Terry) Hickey of Columbus; Chris (Steve) Bartlett of Hickman; step-son Arlo Bohaty of Bridgeport, WV; step-daughter Jane (Ron) Bohaty-Wickman of Kellogg, IA; sisters Lorraine Kunasek of Kansas City, MO; Mary Ann (Frank) Aerts of Columbus; Helen Jean (Reynold) Holeka of Brainard and a brother Kenny (Roxie) Timms of Adams; as well as 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Daisy. Dorothy was preceded in death by: husbands Charlie and Joe, parents, sisters Geraldine Rech-Prochaska; Maxine Hurt-Denman and brother Joe Timms. Interment was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, David City, NE.
