Bio

Darwin was the second son of Gilbert and Grace Smith. His brother, Durward, couldn't say brother so he called his baby brother, Bud. Bud worked for Shell Pipeline Corp. for 32 years, retired and became a farmer near Hico, Texas. He and his wife, Ila, were married for 54 years and to this union they had two daughters. Bud's favorite and best saying was, " A man is only as good as his word". He was a cowboy and as his funeral procession was making its way down hwy 287, a cowboy stepped off his horse and removed his hat in salute.
