Gilbert was the kind of man who honest and trustworthy. He worked hard and loved his Pepsi/ice cream floats. He was married to Grace for 63 years having three sons. Grace was an accomplished fiddle player and Gilbert decided to learn to play, but before he would buy a fiddle he made sure he could learn. So, he made a fiddle out of a cigar box and learned to play on that, then he bought a fiddle. He and Grace loved to play their tunes with their son, Bud, and their friends Charlie and Ella Mae. Gilbert lived life to the fullest. The day Gilbert was called home, he had been out looking for a lost calf and after finding the calf,he returned to his home and wife, only to be called to his Heavenly Home. He was a man of few words, but he was a pillar of strength.
