Emerich P. Wesely, 86, died at St. Mary's hospital in Columbus Saturday evening at 9:30. Mr. Wesely was taken to the hospital Wednesday of last week when he was taken seriously ill. Mr. Wesely was born in Moravia October 26, 1860. He arrived in the United States with members of his family July 29, 1892. The family settled at Linwood. Mrs. Wesely, nee Mary Novacek (Racicky), died in 1895. Mr. Wesely and Mrs. Anna Vavra were married in 1896. The second wife died March 6, 1928. During his 52 years of residence in Linwood, Mr. Wesely was engaged in the shoe repairing and harness business. He learned his trade in Moravia. He conducted the Linwood band for several years and was a member of the Z.C.B. J. lodge. He served as the lodge's financial secretary for 32 years. Mr. Wesely enjoyed good health until five years ago when he lost his sight. For the past three years, he made his home in Schuyler. Survivors include two sons, Frank of Schuyler and Albin of Kansas City, Mo., a deaughter, Miss Bessie Wesely of Schuyler, and four step-children, Mrs. Jean Freemon of Schuyler, Mrs. C. W. Kerlin, Mrs. Fred F. Thomas and Mrs. Joseph Vavra, all of Linwood. Several grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at the Bideaux chapel Tuesday morning at 9:30 and the Z.C.B.J. hall in Linwood at 10 o'clock. Rev. B. A. Filipi of Clarkston officiating. Burial was made in the Linwood Hill cemetery. Pallbears were Anton Krofta, Rudolph Peltz, Frank Peltz, Fred F. Mundil, Charles Kavan and James Shalon. Wesley, well-known resident of Linwood for 52 years, making his home in Schuyler the past three years, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 16 in St. Mary's hospital, Columbus, where he was taken after becoming seriously ill on Wednesday, August 13. He was aged 86 years and ten months. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at the Bideaux Mortuary in Schuyler at 9:30 and at the Z.C.B.J. Hall in Linwood at 10 o'clock, Rev. B.A. Fillipi officiating. Anton Krofta, Rudolph Peltz, Frank Peltz, Chas. Kavan, James Shalon and Fred F. Mundil were pallbearers. Burial was in the Linwood Hill cemetery. Emerch P. Wesley was born in Moravia October 26, 1860. He came to the United States with his family and settled in Linwood July 20, 1892. Mrs. Wesley passed away in 1895, and in 1896 he was married to Mrs. Anna Vavra, who died March 6, 1928. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Frank Wesley and Miss Bessie Wesley of Linwood and Albin Wesley of Kansas City, Mo; a number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and four stepchildren, Mrs. Jean Freeman of Schuyler and Mrs. C. W. Kerlin, Mrs. Fred F. Thomas and Joseph Vavra of Linwood. Mr. Wesley was in the shoe repairing business and harness business during the 52 years that he lived in Linwood, a trade that he learned in Moravia. He conducted a band here for several years. He was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge and was financial secretary of this lodge in Linwood for 32 years. Mr. Wesley had enjoyed good health up to five years ago, when he lost his eyesight.
