Schuyler Sun, 20 Sep 1984 Bessie Wesley, 86, dies in California A private funeral service was held for Bessie Wesley, 86, who died September 8, in San Dimas, California. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery. The daughter of Emerich and Mary Wesley, she was born May 1, 1898, in Linwood. She attended school and lived in Linwood until 1944 at which time she moved to Schuyler where she established a home with her brother, Frank, and his family, Shirley Murphy, now of Saugus, Calif; Jim Wesley, Salem, Oregon; and Carolyn Plowman, San Dimas, California. She was active in the Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star Chapter 75, where she held many offices. Bess maintained her membership in the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was employed at the Schuyler State Bnk until her retirement, when she moved to California where she has lived 17 years. Several nieces and nephews survive. Brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Linwood Events News was received here of the death of Bessie Wesley, San Dimas, Calif. She was a one-time resident of Linwood. She worked in the bank of Linwood before the bank joined with the First National Bank, Schuyler. Her body was cremated and the burial will be in Linwood Hill Cemetery.
