Headstone shows middle name as "May", however, all documentation including her husband's obituary (written while Elva was alive), show it as "Mae"
Our wonderful and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Elva Mae Woodruff, 86, died of Alzheimer's disease Saturday, August 31, 1996, in Elmo, where she had been a resident of Turnquist Retreat Care Center. She was born July 4, 1910, in Indian Bench, Uintah County, Utah, a daughter of Ashel Calvin and Grace Eudora Casper Bingham. She married Clifford Albert Woodruff on May 15, 1929, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 12, 1988.She was active in the LDS Church and held many positions. Elva loved her family and supported them in all their activities. She was always doing things for others, especially compassionate service to those in need. She set a perfect example for us all. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Karla Jean and Earl Gunderson of East Carbon, Donna Mae Leonard of Cleveland, Utah; Elva Ree and Louis Bosco of Roseville, Calif.; Clifford A. and Louise Woodruff of Price; Shanna Lee and Richard Robb of Rochester, Minn.; Kenneth Ray and Katie Woodruff of Mesquite, Nev.; 33 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; seven brothers and one sister. Mom, we thank you for letting us be a part of your family, for we truly believe we have been raised by an angel. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, at 11 a.m. in the Price 8th Ward, 995 East 700 North. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary in Price on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. or at the church one hour prior to services.
