Bio

Hazard resident, 99 GRAND ISLAND - Mildred L. Trumble, 99, of Hazard died Friday, July 13, 2012, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hazard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Evans officiating. Burial will be at Hazard Cemetery. She was born Sept. 21, 1912, in Rockville to Louis and Inger (Mogensen) Hansen. On April 20, 1935, she married Abner Trumble in Phillipsburg, Kan. He died March 14, 1968. Survivors include her sons, Clarence Trumble and his wife, Judy, of Aurora and Milan Trumble and his wife, Peggy, of Lincoln; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was educated in Hazard and graduated from Hazard High School and Normal Training at Kearney State College. She and Abner made their home in Hazard. Mildred taught rural school and later served as postmaster in Hazard. She retired in 1978. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hazard. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one grandson. Published in Kearney Hub on July 16, 2012
