AURORA — Clarence Whitman Trumble, 71, of Aurora died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Aurora United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Patzloff will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Hazard Cemetery. Mr. Trumble was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Loup City to Abner Whitman and Mildred Lucille (Hansen) Trumble. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Brian Edward. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gregg and Kim Trumble of Phillips, Jeff and Kelly Trumble of Aurora and Jason Trumble of Phillips; and a brother and sister-in-law, Milan (Peg) Trumble of Lincoln. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jenna Trumble and Zachary Trumble of Phillips and Kaleb Trumble and Hunter Trumble of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews. Clarence grew up in Hazard. He attended Hazard Elementary School and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1960. He served from 1961 to 1969 in the United States Navy, where his duties included submarine service. When Clarence returned, he went on to graduate from Kearney State College in 1973. On Nov. 4, 1963, Clarence was married to Judith Vocke at Rapid City, S.D. After finishing his Navy career and graduating from KSC they moved in 1974 to Aurora, where Clarence worked at ISSI until March 1997. At that time he went to work for Merrick Machine in Alda until 2008. Clarence served as a Hamilton County Commissioner from 2009-2012. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Clarence was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, researching new interests and "puttering." He was also preceded in death by his parents.
