Funeral for Billy E. King, 71, Lawton, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist West with the Rev. Harold Gaches, pastor, officiating. Mr. King passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, in Lawton. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born July 1, 1941 in Sterling, to Fletcher Crandell and Velda Lou Moore King. He attended Lawton High School. After high school he attended Cameron University for a year. He served honorably in the United States Army Reserves from June 16, 1956, until Oct. 19, 1964. He married Marian Cynthia Roberts on May 30, 1970, in Lawton. He was a salesman working for Spring Air where he was the top salesman for five consecutive years. He was a member at First Baptist West. He loved his family more then anything especially Sunday afternoons because that was family day. His other passion was golf. He played golf as often as he could. He loved the long days of summertime and homemade ice cream. He loved all of his grandchildren and was papa to all of the children in the family. He loved to get together and tell old stories and watch old Westerns and classic movies. He is survived by his wife, Marian, of the home; his mother, Velda King, Lawton; his son, Brian King, Lawton; two daughters: Cynthia Lindsey and her husband, Thomas, Lawton, and Michelle King, Western, Iowa; his brother, Donnie King, and wife, Sharon, Arlington, Texas; his sister, Barbara Bell, Lawton; seven grandchildren: Amanda and John McBride, Jessica Lindsey, Allison Lindsey, Tyler Lindsey, Bradley King, Justin Lindsey, and Nickolas King; two great-grandchildren: Madelyn McBride and Mason King; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fletcher King; and his grandparents. A special viewing and visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
