Bio
Johanna "Jennie" Hain Vogeltanz was born in Rouchovany, South Moravia, December 27, 1888, the daughter of Alexander and Frantiska (Ruzicka) Hain. She immigrated with her family in 1894, settling in Plum Creek, Butler County, Nebraska. Jennie married Thomas Vogeltanz on September 28, 1909, in Butler County. They were the parents of six children. She was predeceased by her husband and one daughter, Agnes. She is survived by her son, Ladislav Vogeltanz; daughters, Mrs. Marie Codr, Mrs. Frances Pesek, Mrs. Caroline Semin, and Mrs. Martha Dowding. She died at Seward Memorial Hospital late Tuesday night. Rosary will be at Wood Chapel Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward. Nov. 13, 1968 Seward Co, Independent After Jennie's mother died, her father returned to Czechoslovakia and remarried. Jennie and Thomas visited taking all of their children. During World War II, they learned that Alexander had died.
