1900-1983 Stacie Jurena, who passed away Monday March 14, at the Lavaca Medical Center in Hallettsville. Sister Stacie had been ill for the past 3 1/2 years and had been a resident of the Stevens Convalescent Center in Hallettsville prior to her death. Funeral services for Mrs. Jerome (Stacie) Jurena, Sr., 82, were held Wednesday, March 16, 1983, at 2 p.m.at the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg with Rev. Benton Thurmond and Rev. Tim Edwards officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery in Schulenburg. Sister Stacie was born to Frank and Julie (Holub) on April 19, 1900 in Morava, Texas and on October 18, 1921 she was married to Jerome Jurena and they settled in the Velehrad Community. She was a member of our SPJST Lodge Velehrad since July 3, 1939. Survivors are three sons, Alvin Jurena of Schulenburg, Eugene Jurena of Moulton and Jerome Jurena Jr. of San Antonio; five sisters, Mrs. Cecilia Berger of Moravia, Mrs. Lucille Hilscher of Houston, Mrs. Annie Hilacher of San Antonio, Mrs. Helen Krause of Victoria and Mrs. Eda Holacka of Dallas; six brothers, Emil R. Hrncir of Hallettsville, Gus Hrncir of Rosenburg, Henry Hrncir of Houston, William Hrncir of Moravia, Erwin Hrncir of Dallas and Stanley Hrncir of Hillje; also surviving are six grandsons; and three step-granddaughters. Pallbearers were Dwight Jurena, Mark Jurena, Wilbur Jurena, Steven Jurena, Paul Jurena and Alfons Kalums. May our faithful departed lodge sister rest in peace.
