Funeral services for Mr. Gene Jurena, age 87 of Moulton, Texas will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10 am from the First Baptist Church in Schulenburg, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, with the Schulenburg VFW memorial services at 6:30 pm from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. Interment will be in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. The Schulenburg VFW will conduct full military honors at the cemetery. The family requests donations be made to: The First Baptist Church of Schulenburg; Schulenburg VFW; or a charity of one's choice. Survivors include: wife-June Jurena of Moulton; 3 daughters-Sylvia Douglas Wiley/husband Jim of Justin, Debbie Douglas Rhoades/husband Gill of Rio Vista and Kelly Douglas Kalmus/husband Fonse of Hallettsville; 1 son-Steven Jurena/wife Betty of Moulton; brother-Jerome Jurena, Jr/wife Patricia of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and 4 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
