Bio

Samuel "Sam" Harcastle, 85, of Clovis, NM died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Sam was born May 24, 1927 to Noel Alvie "Bud" and Leanora (Horton) Hardcastle in Godley, TX. He married Ettie Lanfear September 5, 1950 in Godley, TX and they came to Clovis in 1965. He was the Roundhouse Foreman for AT&SF and BNSF for 39 years. Since 1983, Sam has owned Prairie Peddler Antiques. He was a member at Sandia Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Sam loved woodworking, traveling, antiquing, and coaching girls softball. He was proud of his Christianity. Survivors include his wife, Ettie Lee Hardcastle of the home; three daughters, Karen Ann (Robert) Rhodes of Hobbs, NM, Sherry (Joe) Casarez of Rapid City, SD, and Donna (Tom) Smith of Purcellville, VA; three brothers, Harold (Mary Anne) Hardcastle of Grandburry, TX, Gerald Hardcastle of Seattle, WA, and George (Barbara) Hardcastle of Gainsville, TX; a sister, Marjorie (John) Earle of Arlington, TX; a sister-in-law, Ann Hardcastle of Cleburne, TX; five grandchildren, Jennifer O'Berry, Chad Chumley, Ariana Casarez, Joshua Smith, and Kaycee Smith; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Rodney Hardcastle.
