Harold Gwynne Hardcastle, 85, of DeCordova Bend Estates died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Granbury. Service: 11 a.m. Monday in the Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: May be made in the name of H.G. Hardcastle to Hood County Christmas for Children, P.O. Box 681, Granbury, Texas 76048. Website: christmasforchildren.org. Mr. Hardcastle was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Godley to Noal Alvie and Frances Leanora Horton Hardcastle. He married Mary Ann Griffith on Sept. 4, 1949, in Godley. Mr. Hardcastle worked as a supervisor for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, retiring with 39 1/2 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and an active member of the DCBE Men's Golf Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Samuel Edward Hardcastle and Rodney Lee Hardcastle. Survivors: His wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Hardcastle of DeCordova Bend Estates; sons, Keith Hardcastle and wife, Dianne, of League City and Mark Hardcastle of Greensboro, N.C.; daughters, Carol G. Hardcastle of DeCordova Bend Estates and Mary Kay Hardcastle of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Jason, Paige, Ashley, Brianna and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Riley and Hayden; sister, Marjorie Earle and husband, John, of Arlington; and brothers, George Hardcastle and wife, Barbara, of Gainesville and Gerald Hardcastle of Seattle, Wash.
