Herald Coaster, August 12, 1998: Funeral services for Frank Joe Svatek, 94, of El Campo, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, at St. John's Catholic Church in New Taiton, and the Rev. Joseph Koebel will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 13. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, at Triska Funeral Home. Svatek was born on October 24, 1903 in Lavaca County. He died on August 11, 1998 in El Campo. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a member of KJT Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Mikes Svatek; parents, Albert and Marie Riha Svatek; daughter, Rosalie Yawn; sister, Mary Werner; and brothers, Joe Svatek and Jim Svatek. He is survived by daughters, Frances Adamik of El Campo and Lillie Wittig of Boling; sons, August Svatek of Bay City, Frank Svatek of Needville, Eddie Svatek of Humble, Jerry Svatek of Boling, Dennis Svatek of Boling, and Leonard of Humble; sisters, Lillian Pavlovsky of Sealy and Annie Heimann of Wharton; brother, John Svatek of Rosenberg; and 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be August, Frank, Eddie, Jerry, Dennis, and Leonard Svatek. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Triska Funeral Home, 612 Merchant St., El Campo 77437.
