Bio

Anna Placzek was born Mar. 28, 1879 to John & Agnes Liss Placzek in Saxony. She joined the Order of St. Francis Convent On May 4, 1899. Her temporary vows were professed on Jul 11, 1901 and she became Sr. Solona Placzek on Dec. 30, 1907. Sr. Solona Placzek celebrated her Silver Jubilee May 4, 1924, her Golden Jubilee on May 4, 1949 and her Diamond Jubliee on June 6, 1959. During her lifetime she was assigned to St. Anthony Hospital, Denver, CO in 1899 for domestic work, St. Francis Convent, Lafayette, ID in 1900, St. Joseph's Hospital, Memphis, TN in 1901, St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO in 1905, St. Joseph's School in 1908, Kentland, ID, St. Anthony Hospital in Terre Haute, ID in 1909, St. Anthony's Hospital in Michigan City, ID in 1908, St. Joseph's Hospital in Logansport, ID in 1910, St. John's School in Roswell, NM in 1918, St. Anthony's Mission in Zuni, NM in 1923, St. Boniface School in Monterey, NE in 1930, St. Anthony's School in 1936 in Columbus, NE., St. Francis School in Humphrey, NE in 1938, Mother of Grace Hall in Denver, CO in 1946 - Retired. Motherhouse in Colorado Springs, CO in 1954, St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, CO - patient 1968 and boarder. She died on Feb 17, 1972 in Denver CO and is buried at Mt. Olivet, Denver.
