Thanks to Find A Grave contributor #47247306; Funeral services for Anton Placzek, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic church in Tarnov. Fr. Leonard Ficenee will officiate with burial in St. Michael cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. today at McKown Funeral Home. Mr. Placzek, a long-time resident and retired farmer, died Saturday morning at Mory's Haven in Columbus. He had been failing in health the past nine months. He was born, Oct. 7, 1883, at Tarnov, the son of John and Agnes Liss Placzek and attended St. Michael school. Mr. Placzek was married to Regina Pytel, Jan 25, 1910 at St. Michael church and they farmed in the Tarnov community before coming to Columbus. A Catholic, Mr. Placzek was a member of the Holy Name Society and Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors includ his wife, step daughter, Frances Sliva of Omaha, three brothers, Pete of Silver Creek, Mike and Florian of Columbus, and two sisters Mrs. Sophia Borys of New York, NY and St. Solona of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents two sisters Mrs. Rose Torczon and one in childhood.
