Bio

Relatives have received word that Mrs. Sophia Borys of Phelps, NY died at the age of 82 after a brief illness. She was a sister to Florian and Michael Placzek of Columbus, and Peter Placzek of Silver Creek. Born in NE, Mar. 26, 1886, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Agnes Liss Placzek. Other survivors included seven daughters in New York, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Avery of Waterloo, Mrs. Muriel Tuck of Lyons, Mrs. Frances Lasch of Walcott, Mrs. Josephine Palazzi of Seneca Falls, Mrs. Charles (Louise) Albro of Phelps, Mrs. Rose Naragon and Mrs. Sophia Rapini of Geneva; three sons' John of Waterloo, NY, Michael of Seneca Falls, and Henry of Lebanon, CT. Also, her sister, Sister Solona of Denver; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Francis Church with the Rev. William J. Riefer officiating.
