Anton Hoelscher, Sr. is buried in what once was a small Catholic Cemetery on private property at Ross Prairie, a location between Ellinger and Fayetteville, Texas. The cemetery was adjacent to the first Catholic church in Fayette County.
Bio
Anton Holscher [aka Hoelscher] married Maria Catherine Dahldrup on November 14, 1817 in Olfen, Westphalia, Prussia, Germany. This a memorial for Anton Hoelscher, Sr. at the grave of his wife at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Frelsburg, Colorado County, Texas. The memorial stone was placed there in his memory by the Hoelscher / Buxkemper family. Anton Hoelscher, Sr. died while the family was living near Ellinger, Fayette County, Texas, actually Ross Prairie. Anton Hoelscher, Sr. was buried near there, but there are no records of his death and burial. There is a Historical Marker marking the Gravesite of Anton Hoelscher Sr. (GPS 29.851156, -96.678233) at Ross Prairie. His grave is on private land. Actual burial here
