At the time of his death, Dr. Sewell was serving his sixth year as superintendent of the Bartlesville District. Dr. Sewell was loved and respected by clergy and laity throughout the Oklahoma Conference and general boards and agencies of the United Methodist Church. Dr. Sewell is survived by his wife, Fay Del of Bartlesville; 3 children, Stan Sewell of Los Angeles, Mark L. Sewell of Manchester, GA, Carol C. Lansdown of OKC; 4 grandchildren, Kelly Christina Sewell, Amy Elizabeth Lansdown, Brian Patrick Lansdown and Christina Lynn Sewell; a sister, Vera Sue Miller of OKC, two nephews, Markham Curtis of Albuquerque, NM, and Bradley Curtis of Enid; a niece, Susan Rena Moosman of Manhattan, KS. Services will be held in Bartlesville at First United Methodist Church at 2 pm Tuesday, January 27. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, OKC, Wednesday, 10:30 am. Memorial services Wednesday 2 pm, First United Methodist Church, OKC. Memorial gifts may be made to Catch the Vision Campaign of the United Methodist Church, 2420 N. Blackwelder, OKC 73106.
