Our beloved friend and family member VeraSue (Aunt Sue) Frances Miller, age 94, went home to meet the Lord Tuesday, August 1, 2006, and join the love of her life, Alan Marshall Miller. VeraSue was born November 27, 1911 to Otto and Lillie Sewell in Skeedee, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Oklahoma City in 1920. VeraSue graduated from Capitol Hill High School and later attended Oklahoma City University. VeraSue worked various jobs during her lifetime including: fashion model, coordinator, commentator, nationally known calligrapher, artist/designer, and a loving wife for 66 years. Aunt Sue was very spirited and loved to give back to the community. This included volunteering for many organizations including the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, Oklahoma Hospitality Club, craft instructor for USO during WWII, Big Sisters of Oklahoma, and Will Rogers World Airport. VeraSue accomplished many things in her lifetime. She was president for many of the organizations she volunteered for, and was listed in Oklahoma's Who's Who of community leaders in 1965. VeraSue leaves a legacy of love to her nephews and nieces Brad and Patricia Curtis, William and Maria Curtis, Susan and Col. Christopher Moosmann, Stanford and Carol Ann Sewell, Mark Sewell, Carol Lansdown, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also near and dear to her heart are special friends Merle and Mary Lou Mayberry, Jack Scothorn and Marie Evans, Lorene Baird, Chet and Billie Ferguson, and many other loyal and faithful friends. Funeral services ~ Friday, August 4, 2006, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
