Bio

Funeral Held for Gail Muller, Crash Victim Military funeral services for Gail Muller, 24, who was killed in a two car crash near O'Neill during a snowstorm Sunday evening, April 19, were conducted Friday at Hengstler's Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Amel Whitwer, pastor of the Congregational Church of Neligh, officiated. Pallbearers were Ervin Jerman, Rex Diez, Don Knori, Chris Warriner, Bernard Smith and Leonard Wagner. Gail Muller was born Sept. 21, 1934 on a farm near Verdigre. When he was a small child the family moved to a farm near Creighton, where he attended school and grew to manhood. He entered the Air Force Dec. 2, 1953 and was discharged Oct. 15, 1957. He served two years overseas. On April 10, 1959 he was married to Barbara Ballard at O'Neill. They made their home at Niobrara during their short married life. He was employed as a mechanic at the Jerman Implement Co. He is survived by his wife; stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Von Rentzell of Creighton; a sister, Mrs. Julius (Shirley) Wagner; two brothers, Robert and Leo; two half sisters, Darlene and Donna and his grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Siercks.
