Bio

Evelyn Williams Brewer, 93, of McComb, died Dec. 11, 2012, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Services of McComb and 9 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11 a.m., with Dr. David Millican and the Rev. Brent Rutland officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Mrs. Brewer was born July 15, 1919, in Amite County, to the late Guy Williams and Arie Fleming Williams. She owned and operated a daycare center for several years and later worked for St. Alphonsus Daycare Center until her retirement. She loved to cook and quilt. She made the best "maw-maw" cookies in the world. She was also a longtime member of South McComb Baptist Church. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Lee Brewer; two daughters, Karen E. Young and Martha A. McKinley; two brothers, Woody and Harry Williams; three sisters, Margaret White, Mable Barron and Ruby Anders; two grandsons, Pete Young and Steven Phillip McKinley; and one great-grandson, Cory Young. Survivors include five grandchildren, Guy Young and wife Carolyn of Ellenton, Fla.,and Wayne Young and wife Denise, Jim McKinley and wife Katie, Todd McKinley and wife Theresa and Doug McKinley, all of McComb; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be William and Stephen McKinley, Robert Young, Sammy Clark, Will Pennington and Tyler Vanderslice. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Guy Williams, Ken Barron and Mac Anders.
