Bio

Mr. Ross was born Aug. 8, 1923, in rural Hamilton County to Herman and Elnora (Reichert) Ross. He is survived by his wife, Lola; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kendy and Rich Darling of LaVista, and Michele and Marvin Jakub; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerel and Kathy Ross and Kim and Diana Ross ; one sister, Arlene DeMaranville ; and one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Betty Ross. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He married Lola Chrisp on Dec.17, 1944, in Central City. In 1945 he was called to serve in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1947. He farmed in Clay County until 1954. The family then moved to rural Central City where he also farmed. In 1963 he joined Farm Bureau Insurance Co. and worked 30 years as agency manager. During his lifetime Kenneth was active in community affairs, which included the city council, rural school board, church board, Liederkranz board and the Central Nebraska Community College board. He served as president of the Central City Chamber of Commerce and Associate Guardian of Bethel No. 7. He enjoyed yard work, bird feeding, ballroom dancing and spending time with his family. His parents; one sister, Maxine Dunham; two brothers-in-laws, Walter Dunham and Eugene DeMaranville; and one infant grandchild preceded him in death.
