Arlene Nora DeMaranville, 86, of Aurora died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Arlene was Dec. 29, 1924, at Stockham to Herman and Elnora (Reichart) Ross. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, 'Gene' DeMaranville, and son, David DeMaranville. Survivors are: sons and daughter-in-law, Rod of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Dick and Karen of Lake Wylie, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Barb and Jerry Bohnart of Lee's Summit, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Betty Ross of Georgia; and sister-in-law, Lola Ross of Seward. Arlene graduated from Stockham High School in 1942. Arlene married Eugene 'Gene' DeMaranville on April 20, 1945, in Stockham at her parents' home. They lived in Aurora their entire married life. Gene and Arlene co-owned the local Brandeis Store for 26 years. Gene passed away on Nov. 14, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maxine Dunham and brother, Kenneth Ross. Burial was in The Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 6/7/2011
