Everett L. Rinker of Tuttle died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 83. He was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Joseph and Mamie (Jennings) Rinker. Rinker was a retired janitor for the Shawnee Public Schools and veteran of World War II. He married Dorothy Black on July 22, 1943, in Norman; she preceded him in death in 1989. He married Georgia Pearline Baumann in 1990. Rinker, who attended the New Hope Baptist Church, moved to Shawnee in 1964 and stayed until 1990 when he moved to Tuttle. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jo Ella Lamb, brother Odie Rinker, daughter, Carrie Chubb, and wife Dorothy Rinker. Survivors include wife, Georgia Rinker; one daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Michael Becker; two grandchildren, Holly Rimer and Robert Rimer III; seven stepchildren, Carol Miller, Joyce O'Daniel, John Baumann, Steve Baumann, Melvin Baumann, Lonnie Baumann, Connie Banker; numerous step and great-grandchildren, five sisters, Edna Dennis, Opal Armstrong, Mildred Johnson, Carol Hunter, Essie Thomas; three brothers, Marshall Rinker, Rollie Rinker, James Rinker. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. DuWayne Colvin officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. The Shawnee News-Star - December 21, 2000
