'''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Spalding Enterprise , November 1, 1934, p. 1, col. 1 Mrs. Van Houdenos Died Suddenly Saturday Morning A very sad death occurred Saturday morning, when Mrs. Lillian Van Houdenos passed away, at 2:30 a.m., leaving seven children including a newborn son. Lillian Kosinski was born in Poland, on May 6, 1900. At the age of three years she came with her parents to America, and settled in Columbus, Nebr., where she grew to womanhood. At that place she was united in marriage to Martin Furmanski, on February 3, 1915. To this union were born six children, as follows: Edward, Rose, Louis, Carl, Marie and Angeline. Mr. Furmanski passed away in 1926. In 1929 she moved with her family to Greeley county, where they have lived ever since. On October 13, 1932, she was united in marriage to Harry Van Houdenos. To them a son was born, October 27. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kosinski of Ogallala, Nebr., six sisters, Mrs. T. B. Furmanski of Omaha, Mrs. W. A. Blayney of Imperial, Mrs. Ed Knebel of Brule, Mrs. Kenneth Machan of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. I. G. Bogus of Kimball, Miss Josephine Kosinski of Ogallala, and two brothers, Frank Kosinski of Greely and Leo Kosinski of Grant. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Michael's church, and interment was at Cedar Rapids. CARD OF THANKS We are very anxious to express our sense of gratitude to the many friends for their expressions of sympathy and assistance on the occasion of our recent bereavement in the loss of our beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister. We would like to address each one personally, but find this impossible, and take this means, trusting to reach all to whom thanks are due. Harry Van Houdenos and family.
