Thrown from the car and crushed beneath it as it rolled over, 18-year-old Patricia Marie Maughan, of 221 Wilson St., Ridgecrest, suffered fatal injuries and died en route to the Trona Hospital. Trona-based De. County Coroner Jack McCall said the girl was alone in the car when it over-turned. She was driving eastbound on the Ridgecrest-Trona Rd. at a high rate of speed, McCall said, and lost control of the car at the road’s intersection with the Randsburg-Trona Rd. The car failed to make a curve, jumped a 24-foot culvert, skidded 300 feet and then went into a roll. Miss Maughan was thrown and crushed by the car in one roll. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum C. Maughan, two sisters and a half-sister. The body was taken to Turner’s Mortuary, Ridgecrest
