Funeral services for Albert J. Hilger, David City were conducted Saturday morning, August 18. from St. Mary's Catholic church with Msgr. A. J. Lisko officiating. Mr. Hilger died August 15, at the Butler County Hospital. Mrs. Ray Vanis was organist. Members of the Knights Of Columbus attended in a body. Pallbearers were E. A. Supancheck, Leonard Hilger, Harold Phillips, Alfred Hilger, Joe Hilger and Eugene Kosch. Burial. was in St. Mary's Cemetery, David City. Albert Hilger was born July 25, 1882; at David City to Henry Hilger and Anna Victor. He attended the David City schools. On Jan.16, 1907, he was married to Catherine Phillips at Marietta Church. Six children were born to this union. A retired farmer. Mr. Hilger was the first male resident to move into St. Joseph's Villa following its re-opening about 14 years ago lie continued to reside there until his death. He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by two daughters. Mrs. Joe Lenora Steiner, David City and Mrs. Alex (Agnes) Shumacher, Lincoln, 11 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1933, two sons, Arnold and Bernard, and two infant sons.
