Bio

Richard is the son of Elihue Vallance and Bernice Gatlin. He is the spouse of Ardis Dennis Vallance. They were married in 1935 in Childres, Texas. Richard served in the U.S.Army in World War II. Richard Vallance MEMPHIS - Richard "Dick" Vallance, 84, died Friday, April 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Vallance was born in Hall County and had lived in Memphis for the past 12 years. He was a grocery retail manager, operating family grocery stores in Hedley, Wellington and Clarendon. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Helping Hands, the American Legion and of the First Baptist Church in Memphis. He married Ardis Dennis in 1935 in Childress. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cherrye Howard of Memphis, Dolfa Hearn of Lake Conroe and Linda Tomlinson of Denton; a son, Richard N. Vallance of Amarillo; two sisters, Charlene Johnson of Weatherford and Virginia Toalson of Hallsville, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
