Bio
Johnny Andrew Chudej, 58, of Ross, passed away late Monday night, April 23, 2012, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 9 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Johnny was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Louis V. and Annie Agnes (Nors) Chudej. He attended schools in West and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1969 and West High School in 1972. On June 8, 1974, he was united in marriage to Barbara L. Brummett in West. Johnny worked as a produce manager for HEB for several years and the West Independent School District as Ground Maintenance Supervisor for 18 years. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He loved his motorcycle and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 26, 2009; and a brother, Jimmie Chudej. Survivors include daughter, Michelle Holt and husband, Douglas, of Ganado; son, Shawn Chudej and wife, Heather, of Gholson; grandchildren, Dylan and Laci Holt and Jacob, Skyloh, Nicole Chudej; his dog, Bentley; brothers, Ernest Chudej and Edward Chudej, both of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
