Lawrence Spicer, Jr. was the son of Lawrence Spicer and Mary Elizabeth Hudson. "Lawrence Spicer, 49, former resident of Moberly, died at 5 o'clock yesterday in the Christian Hospital in St. Louis. He had been in failing health for the past eight months and seriously ill for the past two weeks. He was born and reared on a farm west of Moberly, living near here until five years ago. He is survived by three sons, James Richard Spicer of Topeka, Kansas, Robert Spicer of the U.S. armed forces, and Larry Spicer of Moberly; two sisters, Mrs. G.A. Brockman and Mrs. Ella Derboven, both of Moberly; and one brother, Richard Spicer near Moberly. The body is in the Mahan Funeral Parlors and funeral arrangements will be made later."
