Born in Novy Klicov (household # 22) near Domažlice(in the Plzenský Kraj district of present day Czech Republic); "Henry" immigrated to America with his wife, Maria & three sons, arriving aboard the ship "Coriolan" on 22 September 1855. NOTE: The Ledvina family were one of the first of many families who ultimately immigrated from this same area of the Czech Republic to Kewaunee County, WI. They helped create a unique spot in America for those who followed; the families moving here shared a common language, culture (Bohemian) & religion (Catholic)... easing their transition to the New World. On 28 January 1845, Heinrich ("Henry') married Maria Mleziva in Stráž, Domažlice, Plženský Kraj, Czech Republic; he was age 24, she was 23. Born in 1822 in Stráž, Czech Republic; Maria was the daughter of Filip ("Phillip") & Maria (Kazda) Mleziva. A pioneer settler & member of a successful farming family in Montpelier (Township) in Kewaunee County; Ledvina Road , which leads into County Road "V" near this cemetery was named to honor this family. CHILDREN: -o- Joseph A. (1846-1916) -o- Tomas [ "Thomas" ] (1850-1916) -o- Johann [ "John/Jan" ] (1851-1919) -o- Barbara (1856-1878) -o- Catherina (1858-1922) -o- Anna (1860-1948) -o- Michael George (1864-1945) -o- Maria (1865-1946) A hardworking, successful family farmer who owned 160 acres of prime land, "Henry" died at age 61. According to church records, three of their grandchildren are buried near Henry & Maria's grave ( babies have no grave-marker ).
