'''''' Pioneer Grip (Alliance, Nebr.), January 18, 1901, p. 5, col. 1 Last Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock Mrs. J. J. Collopy died at her home in West Lawn, her little baby having been born the day before being buried Saturday morning. Friends of the family will know her better as Miss Martha Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Hill. She was married some years ago to Michael Fay who was killed at Marsland. About a year ago she married J. J. Collopy. Deceased was a devout member of the Catholic church and well known for her faithfulness, charitable works and a good woman. Owing to the quaratine in force the funeral was not held at the church. Father Galvin said mass for the family only at 8 o'clock Monday morning and all went to the house where services were held. In his sermon Father Galvin paid a high tribute to the worthy character of the deceased, offering consolation to the bereaved family. She was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery beside her little one. She leaves three children by her first husband and a large circle of relatives to mourn her death all of whom have the sympathy of many friends in Alliance.
