She graduated from high school in Roswell, N.M. She married Lee Murphy on Oct. 26, 1940 in Roswell, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1977. She married Tommy McTee in 1985 in Denison, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2000. She worked hard from a very young age picking cotton and doing chores and as a grocery store clerk in Dexter and Roswell. Pearl was the epitome of a gracious host. No matter if she was dead tired on her feet after working all day, if anyone came to her door it was always the same thing: "Ya'll com in and have some tea!" Then she worked hard helping make a living for her family of six. She was a homemaker and breadwinner and a loving mother who taught her kids the difference between right and wrong. She and Lee moved from New Mexico to Denison in 1972 where she worked for Barrett Drug, volunteered as a pink lady at TMC and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She always helped anyone with a need. She is survived by her sons: Larry W. Murphy of Twin Falls, Idaho, Phillip L. Murphy and his wife Pam of Hansen, Idaho; daughters: Jeannette Murphy Freeman and her husband Barry of Denison and daughter-in-law Tracy Murphy; brother: Elmer F. Green and his wife, Charlotte of Harper, Texas; sister: Fanny J. "Judy" Fenstermaker of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren: Linc Murphy, Shelly Nellis, Kelly McGee, Ronnie Murphy, Misty Hyde, Mellissa McCune, Carla Little, Matthew Murphy and Amanda Murphy; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors who were very loved. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lee; son: Jerry L. Murphy; husband: Tommy Jo McTee; brothers and sisters-in-law: Earl Green and Alfred Green and his wife, Stella Lee; sisters and brothers-in-law: Rosalie Atnip and her husband John, Velma May Bradley and her husband Earl, Thelma Fay Bizzell and her husband I.J.; brother-in-law: Charles Fenstermaker.
