Charles Ernest Frans March 13,1890-Aug 9,1953 Charles Ernest Frans married Ruth Isabel Ingram on September 29, 1921. Charles and Ruth had three children, Ronald, Jean, and Robert. Ruth died in December 1938. Subsequently, Charles married Velma Inez Reitz on April 10, 1941, and they had no children together. LAUREL (Cedar County, Nebraska) – Charles Ernest Frans, 63, longtime employee of the Burlington railroad, died August 9, 1953, in Methodist Hospital in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. He had been ill about two weeks. Funeral services for Mr. Frans were held Tuesday, August 11, afternoon at the Methodist church in Laurel with Rev. Merle Burres officiating. Burial was in the Belden, Cedar County, Nebraska cemetery under direction of Solso Funeral Service. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave, and pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge of which Mr. Frans was a member. Mr. Frans is survived by his wife, Velma; two sons, Ronald of Sioux City, and Robert of Ames, Story County, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Jean (Frans) Bruce of Rapid City, South Dakota; four grandchildren; two brothers, William Frans of San Gabriel, CA, and Claude Frans of Ponca City, OK, and one sister, Mrs. Adda (Frans) Jones of Enid, OK. Mr. Frans was associated with the Burlington railroad 33 years. He was located in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska after World War I and in 1936 was transferred to Belden. He came to Laurel in 1946. He served in the navy in the first World War and was a member of the American Legion. Born in Missouri March 13, 1890, Mr. Frans spent his childhood in Kingfisher, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. He was married there in September 1921 to Miss Ruth Ingram. They were the parents of the three surviving children. Mrs. Frans died in 1938. Mr. Frans married the second time in April 1941 to Velma Rietz at Wayne, Wayne County, Nebraska.
