Mary Elizabeth Rucker was born in Jul 1869 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas USA as the second child of Robert D Rucker and Sarah J. Brady. She had two siblings, namely: Robert Henry, and Ether I. She died on 09 Jan 1919 in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA. When she was 14, She married William Richard Maddox,son of William W Maddox and Jane Maddox, on 28 Feb 1884 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County,Texas. Mary Elizabeth Rucker was counted in the census in Jun 1880 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas USA (1880 Census shows Lizzie & other Rucker children w step father, John F. Bealle). The 1880 census in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas USA shows Mary (Lizzie) with Rementoid Fever. On 28 Jan 1899 Elizabeth was in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA (Lizzie committed to SouthWest Asylum, San Antonio by her brother Robert H Rucker) She was not counted in the census in Jun 1900 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas USA (1900 Texas Census shows William R. Maddox &children at B. Prairie without Lizzie). On Feb 8, 1906 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas, William R. Maddox was named guardian of Lizzie, person of unsound mind. On May 2,1910 in Bald Prairie, Robertson County, Texas, William R.Maddox sold 265 acres of his and Mary E. Rucker Maddox land to J.J. Oden. Lizzie was a patient at the Southwestern Asylum, San Antonio, Bexar County,Texas. It is now known as San Antonio State Hospital. This is where she passed away, and was buried at the cemetery there.
