Bio
Rosenberg Herald, October 3, 1947: John F. Raesener was born in Bastrop County on Dec. 31, and moved as a young man to Lexington, Lee County. He married Miss Bertha Peterson on Oct. 28, 1897. Mr. and Mrs. Raesener moved with their family to Fort Bend County, settling in Needville in 1922. Mr. Raesener passed away Friday, Sept. 26, in the Rugely-Blasingame Hospital in Wharton. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Raesener of Needville; four sons, Oscar J. of Rosenberg, Louis A. of Houston, and Homer and Edward of Needville; one daughter, Mrs. Dewey Bacica of West Columbia; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Raesner were held Sunday, Sept. 28, at 3:00 p.m. from the Needville Methodist Church in Needville, with Rev. W.A. Menking officiating. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were Oscar B. Raesener, Alton H. Raesener, Marvin Lee Raesener, Leroy Bacica, Roy E. Foley, and Wilbert Kramer. Services were under the direction of the Foerster Funeral Home.
