Herald Coaster, February 8, 2002: Funeral services for Ruth Emma Peters, 80, of Needville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Banda will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Freddy Pavlicek, Darryl Mueck, Darryn Mueck, Charles Funk, Gary Kolar, Glen Poehls, Chad Trilicek, and Robert White. Visitation hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 3103 School St. in Needville. Mrs. Peters died at her home Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002. She was born Dec. 20, 1922 in Burleson County, the daughter of Gus and Emma Schultz. She was a life-long resident of Fort Bend County where she farmed with her husband most of her life. She was a loving wife and mother. She was also a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Laverne Peters of Needville and Kathy Ann Peters of Needville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kolar and her husband, Daniel, Edna Fink and her husband, Alvin, Liddie White and her husband, Paul, all of Needville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Peters; sisters-in-law, Vlasta Cumings and Millie Pavlicek; and her parents. Memorial gifts may be made to the Building Fund at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church St., Needville, Texas 77461.
