Herald Coaster, April 17, 1994: Funeral services for Edwin Oberhoff, 76, of Fairchilds are scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. The Rev. Richard Avery will officiate. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery Pallbearers will be Roy Hartfield, Alton Scilheimer, Alvin Nulisch, Gilbert Vallet Sr., Calvin Oberhoff, John Stern, Steve Janacek and G.G. Vallet Jr. Mr. Oberhoff died Thursday at Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston. He was born Jan. 14, 1918 in Needville. His parents were Fritz and Selma Oberhoff. He was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Esther Oberhoff of Fairchilds; two sons and their wives, Elwood and Carolyn Oberhoff of Fairchilds and Clarence W. and Patty Oberhoff of Monaville; grandchildren: Kim Oberhoff, Vickie Petty, Laurie Janacek, Steve Janacek, Tammy Reynolds, Cody Oberhoff and Tracy Ivie; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernest, Erich, Ervin, Albin, Nelson, Henry Lee, and Gilbert Oberhoff; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Needville. Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors in Needville.
