Bio
Elick John "Elias" Zurovetz, 83, of Temple, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in a local continuing care health facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., April 4, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Elias was the son of the late John Zurovetz and Francis Kubala. He served his country in the U.S Army. Elias married Gertrude Zett. He worked for Allied Fence for a number of years and later retired from the Veterans Administration. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Zett Zurovetz; sisters, Mary Naizar and Francis Antunes; and brothers, Albert Zurovetz, Frank Zurovetz, and Johnny Zurovetz. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Brooks and Cheryl Vanacek, both of Temple; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sybil Mitchell, of Granger, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
