Hattie M. Parick, 87, of Harper, Texas, and formerly of Baytown, Texas, passed away at Windcrest Nursing Center in Fredericksburg, Texas on November 10. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baytown. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church under the direction of Rev. Dwight Canizares. Burial will follow the Mass under the direction of San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home, 14659 I-10 East Freeway, Houston. Pallbearers will be Jeff Lawther of Deer Park, Chuck Mazoch of Beaumont, Kerry Mazoch of Houston, Lonnie Mazoch of Deer Park, Mike Muckleroy of San Antonio, David Zapalac of Markham and Rick Zapalac of New Braunfels. Hattie was born on October 20, 1919, in Borden, TX, to parents John and Barbara Mazoch. She worked for Krogers for 30 years. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Altar Society, KJZT Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxilary, SPJST Society of Pasadena and the Exxon Annuitants Club. Hattie was a hard worker her whole life and would do anything to help friends or family. She and her husband loved to dance, especially polka dancing. She enjoyed fishing at their fishing camp at Day Lake. In her spare time, she loved to play bingo. She is survived by brothers and sister in laws: Leonard Mazoch of Baytown, Albert Mazoch of Beaumont, John and Mary Mazoch of Orange, and sisters and brothers in law: Nettie Zapalac of Palacious, Bettie and Bob Morris of Baytown, and Joyce and Robbie Muckleroy of Harper. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John L. Parick, of 30 years, Ted and Lillian Mazoch, brother and sister in law, Carol Seburn, niece, Molly Mazoch and Mary E. Mazoch, sister in law and niece, Steve Zapalac, brother in law, Eugene and Laverne Zapalac, nephew and niece in law, Jeanna Zapalac, cousin, and Roy Seaman, cousin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Josephs Altar Society or St. Josephs Catholic School. Published November 13, 2006
