Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent May 1985 Neil A. Pinkston, 81, of ..., died Sunday morning at a local nursing home. Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Jones will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the church. Mr. Pinkston was born Oct. 30, 1903, at Arnold to Charles and Lola Schroder Pinkston. He grew up in Arnold and graduated from high school there before moving to Grand Island where he attended Grand Island Baptist College. He married Donna Hatfield on June 10, 1929, at Seneca, Kan. He was a fireman at the Grand Island Air Base during World War II and owned and operated a laundry from 1959 until retiring in 1979. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Eagles Aerie No. 378. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Marilyn) Moeller of Chadron; Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Metcalf of Grand Island and Mrs. Danny (Margaret) Rickert of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Laura Sohrweid of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank, and a sister, Mildred.
