Bio

Elkanah was the son of Daniel Ross & Lucy (Samson) Wilson. He was one of eight children. Elkanah was a Civil War Veteran. He was mustered in as a Private, Co. H. 36th Infantry Regiment Iowa on May 7, 1864 at Wapello Co., Iowa. He was transfered to Co. K. 47th Infantry Regiment Iowa on June 4, 1864 and he was mustered out as a Private on September 9, 1864 at Davenport, Iowa. Elkanah was married to Edna Anolia Kelley on April 6, 1876 at Clarke, Iowa and to their union were born four children one dying in infancy. They are, Leigh L., Carrie H., Edgar R., and Dorothea L. Wilson. They moved to Colorado before 1910 and to California before 1923 where he died, Elkanah was a general farmer his whole life.
