Marcella Malek, 91 of Louise, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2012. She was born on October 30, 1920 in Taiton to the late John and Amalie Dornak Sliva. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was very devoted to her Catholic faith. While raising her eight children, she enjoyed her large garden, canning, sewing, cooking large meals and was well known for her cakes and pies. She also would make various crafts to donate for Church and other picnics. She was a member of the KJZT, SPJST, Altar Society and was recognized as the"1958 Mother of the Year" by the Archdiocese of San Antonio. She is survived by her daughters Pat Malek of Bastrop, Monica Bubela and husband J.J. of Edna, Judy Sulak and husband Stanley of Louise, Jane Ladewig and husband Lawrence of El Campo, Naomi Malek of Houston, Marian Nix and husband Charlie of Conroe, son Myron Malek and wife Carole of Houston, daughter-in-law Angela Malek of Houston, sister-in-law Agnes Malek Cheyney of Houston, 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward T. Malek; son Edward Malek III ; sisters Lucy Troutman, Theresa Bender, and brother John Frank "Johnnie" Sliva . Visitation will begin at 12 pm on Friday at Triska Funeral Home with the family receiving visitors from 5 pm until 7 pm, followed by a Parish Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at St. Procopius Catholic Church in Louise with Rev. Clement Quainoo officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Procopius Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bubela, Shawn Ladewig, Nathan Malek, Patrick Malek, Gregg Popp, and Michael Sulak. Memorials in her memory may be made to the St. Procopius Cemetery Fund or St. Philip's Church Building Fund. Triska Funeral Home
