Bio

Bob Cooper was the son of James Carlisle Cooper and Emmarinthy Caroline Kinzer Cooper(dau George Kinzer).He was a grocery man who will long be remembered in Mt. Pleasant. He operated a grocery store until his death. His first store was across from the Post Office in a small building which grew larger as his business grew from its early begginnings in 1900. Dr. C.Y. Clarke, said in 1965"It would be hard to estimate the good Bob Cooper did helping the poor in this section. We did not have agencies then to push help into our laps as we have now." The store still operated in 1973 under his name. He and his wife had no children, but they did help rear Seth Cooper, who also worked for Bob Cooper. They were cousins.
