Bio
Cheryl Ann Underwood was born on July 8, 1949 to Arthur J. and Virginia M. (Hotovy) Hoffbauer in David City, Nebraska and passed away on March 12, 2012 at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 13 days. Cheri grew up in the Brainard area where she graduated from East Butler High School in the class of 1967. She attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. On January 3, 1970, she married William Allan Underwood at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, Nebraska. Cheri's passion in life was raising her children and being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She also loved writing and has several children's books all mapped out. Cheri didn't work outside the home until all her children were grown. Cheri worked at several places around Seward but most recently as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Cheri is survived by her six children, Mark and Deb Underwood of Omaha, NE; Matt and Michelle Underwood of Glenwood Springs, CO; Bill and Amanda Underwood of Heath, TX; Laura and Steve Peterson of Seward, NE; John Underwood of Lincoln, NE; and Virginia Underwood of Austin, TX; 10 grandchildren, Sam, Emily, Annaliese, Cheyney, Telford, Georgia, Caitlyn, Ethan, Tristan and Ella with number 11 on the way, her parents, Art and Virginia Hoffbauer of Brainard, NE; seven siblings, Art Jr., and Joni Hoffbauer of Cape Corals, FL; Al and Karen Hoffbauer of Seward, NE; Deb and Greg Novacek of Seward, NE; Brenda Grgurich of Lincoln, NE; Bruce Hoffbauer of David City, NE; Duane and Shirley Hoffbauer of Valparaiso, NE.
