Irvin Johnson, 89, of Pitkin, LA, died Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at St. Francis Carbrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. Funeral service were held Thursday, February 29, at Marlow Baptist Church in Cravens, LA, with burial at Drakes Fork Cemetery under the direction of Beauregard Vernon Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. A native of Cravens, LA, he lived in Pitkin many years and was a retired self-employed carpenter and farmer. He was a WWII US Army Veteran. Survivors include sons, Marvin Johnson of Citrus Heights, CA, and Travis Jouhson, James Johnson, and Wallace Johnson, all of Pitkin; daughters, Viola Padgett of Orange, Nola Pelt of Pitkin and Adra Robinson and Ila Davis, both of Hineston, LA; brothers, Albert Johnson of Pitkin, Seaborn Johnson of Lake Charles, LA and Clairborn Johnson of Beaumont; sisters, Desi Gill of Buna and Gladys Carroll of Pitkin; 32 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
